| Basic chemistry of hydrocarbons and their simple derivatives, emphasizing their structure and properties and mechanisms of reactions of these compounds. Laboratory work covers general techniques in organic chemistry, syntheses of representative organic compounds and uses of modern methods of analysis. | |
| Lab fee: $50. | |
| Prerequisite: CHE 112 | |
| NOTE: Credit is not given for both CHE 113 and CHE 213. | |
