Meets the associate degree general education requirement in Science. | |
4 credit hours - Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory weekly; one term. | |
Focus on nutrients, including their digestion, absorption and physiological function in the body. Emphasis is placed on normal nutrition and the relationship between nutrients and chromic disease. Nutrition needs of the healthy person through stages of the life span are included. Includes a laboratory experience. | |
Lab fee: $30. | |
Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 111 and for any general education math or permission of department chair. | |
Note: Credit is not given for both BIO 135 and BIO 136. | |
